Cash is King
$1,000.00
“Cash is King” humorously critiques American consumerism and excess and evokes the nostalgia of mid-century America, harkening back to the days of zany used car salesmen with their over-the-top pitches screaming from the television.
And while it’s meant to bring a smile, it was inspired by the influence advertising has on us and how it seeps into every corner of our lives.
INGREDIENTS
The centerpiece is a 70-year-old toy cash register that still opens with a satisfying “ding,” revealing a fun wooden Indian nickel inside. A re-imagined Howdy Doody doll, sculpted with clay and paint. Mounted atop the crate is a classic Tootsie car. The background features a vintage Monopoly board, dominoes, and other eclectic fun bits & bobs.
