A Bird in Hand (is Bliss)
$0.00
During one weekend estate sale treasure hunt I found this funny wood bird with big wire legs and feet and just knew he’d be the star of a piece. I had been wanting to make a totem of sorts and he was the perfect top!

You know about the bird, but she needed wings, so I drew a pattern and cut them out of a big red cookie tin. Now she can fly! Recently I scored a couple of old croquet sets and his feet just fit perfect around this ball. The wooden dice was a thrift store find. The hand is a fun advertising piece I picked up at an estate sale.
The vintage Bliss coffee tin wasn’t cheap, but I just had to have it! (why are old tins SO expensive??) When I was working on this piece all I could think of was “A bird in hand is bliss”. You know, enjoy what you have!
And you know I love wheels, so this just had to go on a box so I could add wheels. WEEEEE!
