It’s Story
Herbie had no idea where the curious, magical contraption came from—but with its copper body, bright red wheels, and a meter grinning like it knew a secret, it was far too tempting to ignore. Scraps gave an eager bark, and that was all the encouragement he needed.
The moment he climbed aboard, gears turned, springs twanged, and the whole machine began to rumble forward. Down winding alleys, through hidden gates, and along paths no one else seemed to notice, they rattled into a world brimming with oddities and delights.
Every corner held a surprise—a mechanical seal with a wink, a clock tower that ticked backward, streets lined with curious faces. Herbie and Scraps didn’t bother to ask how or why. Some journeys aren’t about answers; they’re about the magic you find when you just keep rolling.
INGREDIENTS
Herbie, is an antique bisque nodder from the 1920’s comic strip “Smitty”, and his faithful porcelain dog Scraps. Copper plumbing part, an upside-down vintage ice skate, erector set wheels, antique clock parts and bits of this and that. The vintage meter was interesting, but the part facing front was just black so I sculpted a face from epoxy clay and painted it. Everything is meticulously sealed with several clear coats.
