The story of determination and the pursuit of friendship adds an extra layer of depth to this whimsical piece. “Rocket” was crafted from a vintage saltshaker reworked with clay & paint, complete with tiny goggles! His makeshift spaceship is a blend of a silverplate sugar bowl, tart mold, steamer parts, estate jewelry, a glass globe, and clay. The spaceship sits on wheels, gotta have landing gear, right? And when you peer inside you can see that Rocket has his own little dish complete with a bone for the ride!
Rocket’s Story
Rocket was a sweet but lonesome little pup, since he was an only dog, and his family worked a lot. Rocket desperately wanted a buddy to play with. Then one day while watching cartoons, alone once again, he saw PLUTO! That was going to be his pal! Rocket worked tirelessly in secret to make his spaceship. Then one day, he put on his goggles, got his dish and favorite bone, climbed into his spaceship ready to blast off in search of Pluto!
