“Hear Me Roar” is standing tall like a morning cheerleader urging you to seize the day. At its base, a thrift store wooden zebra stand, its weathered surface echoing tales of past adventures. Next on the totem is a fabulous vintage Sanka Coffee tin. Each piece on the totem, croquet balls, vintage baby buggy wheel, a wooden dice, rises up to the pièce de resistance – a 1970s lion’s head from a plastic toy, sporting a dapper black top hat. It took many coats of gesso, paint and clear coats to get him ready to roar.
