His Story
In the smoky corners of a jazz club, where saxophone notes mingled with the scent of bourbon, the night belonged to the musicians. The Jazzman – a creature of the night, his saxophone his lifeblood, crooning melodies that echoed through the whispers of the 1950s-60s jazz scene. He played all night, and by day he slept like a vampire, finding solace in the darkness where his creativity thrived. Cops were quick to bust clubs, their patrol cars prowling the streets. The Jazzman, always cool and focused, knew the risks, but couldn’t stop. The music was in his veins, and night after night he picked up his sax and played like his very soul depended upon it. For him, the night was life, and the day was just a fleeting dream.
INGREDIENTS
A thrift store box with the inside decoupaged with a page of very old sheet music from my great, great Aunt and framed with croquet stakes and mallet just for fun. The carved wooden “Man” was a thrift store find, but needed a makeover, so I carved him up with my Dremel, painted him and added toothpicks for fangs. The antique clock spring symbolizes the dizzy ways of a musician’s life. Then there’s the vintage toy police care, toy saxophone, license plate part that reads MAN.
