My work generally falls into two areas, humorous and elegant. “Ram Tough” falls into the latter. The title speaks volumes, echoing the rugged resilience and steadfast strength embodied within this captivating mixed media assemblage wall hanging piece.
At its heart is an antique ceramic beer stein top mold, portraying the noble form of a ram atop a rocky precipice. Gilded with meticulous care, the ram exudes an aura of indomitable power, a symbol of fortitude and determination.
Encased within a thrift store box painted midnight black, the piece exudes an air of mystery and intrigue, drawing the viewer into its enigmatic embrace. Vintage wood appliques adorn the top, their natural hues harmonizing with the earthy tones of the central motif.
A vintage violin handle is attached to the bottom adding a touch of elegance and grace, juxtaposing the rugged with the refined.
On the inside back, there’s a page from an old farm book, adding a rustic vibe. It’s all finished with a clear satin coat for a smooth look. ‘Ram Tough’ tells a story of strength and history, blending old stuff with new creativity.”
