DESCRIPTION
The Gatherer is a mixed media dimensional wall work: acrylic on a 1/2″ solid maple panel, mounted on a vintage shutter. A patina-rich native looking face rises from a field of quiet light, crowned with antlers and accented with intentional found objects. The painted surface shifts into deep violet and molten orange, punctuated by hand-drawn marks and symbols that read like coordinates or a private language. A piece of cholla anchors the lower half, adding a grounded, natural tension against the bold color fields. It feels like a relic and a record at once, part talisman, part map, and the story keeps unfolding the longer you look.
